Cantina della Volta da Christian Bellei is a collaboration started in 2010 with Angela Sini, winemaker Christian Bellei and some wine loving friends. This group of passionate people decided to rejuvenate this historic winery already dedicated to the production of Lambrusco di Sorbara using only the classic method. They were on to something, at the time unique in the region, that enabled them to produce wines that were brilliant examples of Lambrusco but with very little residual sugar. Their signature wine might be the Rimosso meaning cloudy. – Lambrusco di Sorbara left on the lees. It is not disgorged and is meant to be well stirred up before so serving so that it is cloudy in the glass. A beautiful tart expression of “Marasca” maraschino cherry but with no sugar.
Angela Sini, started her professional life as a financial advisor. But after 20 years in that role, fell in love with the idea of rejuvenating the historical winery of the Bellei family in Bomporto close to Modena. She decided to join Christian Belli, a skilled Classical Method winemaker, in the new venture of Cantina della Volta.
For the past 5 years Angela has held the crucial role of business developer with her unrestrained enthusiasm and energy. She is so passionate about her new mission that she is succeeding in spreading the world of Christian Bellei’s innovative approach to LAMBRUSCO not only in our famous Italian Food Valley but also around the world, wherever people are looking for high quality, amazing wines.
